We Value…

…Devotion to God. We believe in full devotion to God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are totally committed to the Scriptures. In everything we do here at New Song we want to put God first. We delight constantly to have God on our minds and in our conversations. We want our first question always to be, "Does this please God?" We believe in excellence as a form of devotion.

…The Harvest. We believe that harvest is foremost. We believe Jesus Christ’s purpose in His life and death was to seek and to save the lost. We believe the lost is not just a concept, but the lost are people with names, hopes and dreams. We believe the way to reach them is through relationships. We believe in planting, resourcing and giving care to other churches.

…Outreach. New Song looks outward to serve non-Christians and the unchurched in order to reach them for Christ. Sometimes we use unconventional, non-traditional ways to do this. Outreach requires awareness of our culture and community. We want to connect with people as they are and where they are. When we have to make a choice between serving needs on the inside or reaching out to others, we are committed in advance toward ministry to outsiders.

…Anointed Teaching. We believe anointed teaching is the catalyst for transformation in individuals’ lives and in the church.

…Strong Servant Team Leadership. We believe Christ is the head of the church, but He as chosen to function through human leaders in the local church. We believe these human leaders must meet the Biblical qualifications of leadership. They must have Godly character, Biblical vision and spiritual influence. We believe leadership must be team-based if it is to be effective in our culture. But we also realize a visionary leader must lead this team. Leadership must model the leadership of Christ in that it is both strong leadership and servant leadership.

…Equipping People. We believe every person is a minister in their sphere of influence and they have been uniquely designed to serve God. We love to say, "Don’t invite them; bring them!" Meaning, each "minister" is responsible to speak into others’ lives where they work and live. This divine design involves personality, spiritual giftedness, experience and passion. We believe it is the responsibility of the church corporately to equip, encourage, and actively help the individual believer find the place where God has designed him to serve in the body of Christ. We understand this place of service may or may not be within the traditional programs of the church.

…Loving Relationships. We believe loving relationships between friends and acquaintances in our body should permeate every aspect of church life.

…Authentic Holistic Worship. We believe man was made to worship God and a primary responsibility of the individual and church corporately is to worship God "in spirit and in truth." We believe worship should involve the whole person, including body, emotions, intellect and will. We also believe worship is a lifestyle of obedience, not simply a once-a-week experience.

…Growth. Although numerical growth is not necessarily a sign of God’s blessing, and is not a sufficient goal in itself, we believe God desires for us to reach as many people as possible with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we will pursuer methods and policies, which will facilitate numerical growth without compromising in any way our integrity or our commitment to Biblical truth.

…Family Affirmation. We believe the family is God’s design. We are committed to strengthening every member of the family, including the single person, the single parent, the student, the married, the divorced and the widowed. We seek to provide an affirming atmosphere that will foster strong family relationships. We are committed to strong youth and children’s ministries
